|Rescue Me ID: 15-10-28-00163Frankie (male)|
Frankie( aka Frankenstein) came to us as a stray dog, possibly dumped in our village. Once he was captured it became obvious he was an abused dog. He had a deep laceration on his throat where a parachute cord had embedded it's self in his neck and the flesh around it was dying. The smell was bad. He was taken directly to the vets office where they did surgery on him. When the were done they had removed the parachute cord, a flea collar you couldn't even tell he was wearing, and a nylon collar also grown into his neck. You could also tell he had been hit in the head often, as he knew how to duck and weave. Push him and he would threaten to bite. Frankie is now a happy fellow, no biting or ducking and the lacerations are healing. He has a great sense of humor and high ball drive. He is 10-12 months old and appears to be mostly Malonois. He's small for a male of his age, about 45 lbs. He would make a good working dog for someone, definitely a dog that needs a job. He gets along with other dogs fine, tolerates cats, but it's unknown about kids, he might be to hyper. (Less)

Belgian Malinois Dogs can make good pets in New Mexico if they match your IifestyIe. The Belgian Malinois is a large, dominant, intelligent, protective breed. The Belgian Malinois is usually used as a working guard dog. Malinois make good pets. They need to be with people and get enough attention or they can become destructive. Malinois should be socialized with children and other animals from an early age, and need to be watched around small non-canines. Malinois do best in cooler climates. Belgian Malinois are used to outdoor work, but can live in an apartment if they get plenty of daily exercise.
