Rescue Me ID: 16-03-12-00231Lucky (male)

Belgian Malinois    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!! Lucky is a very sweet dog. He's a well-cared for, healthy, mature and very handsome guy. He does have a few behavioral issues, so finding the right home and person is important. Basically he's an anxious dog. He has leash aggression; but is great with other dogs once he knows them. He has separation anxiety, and needs to be with someone who is home most of the time. His separation anxiety is getting worse, to the point where he's trying to pull the knobs off doors, and is hurting himself in the process. I have to work all day, and have tried medicating him, without success. He panics during thunderstorms. I've worked ... (Read More)with trainers, and have tried herbal supplements. He hasn't been abused as far as I know -- I rescued him when he was about a year old in California. He's a loving dog, and it pains me to post this. However, after a recent divorce, I'm on my own, have to move to a smaller place, and can't give him the kind of home he needs. His anxiety is getting worse. I don't want to hand him over to the shelter -- it would crush him. Please, please, help. If you, or someone you know, has a nice secure yard, without dogs and people passing by all the time, who is at home much of the time -- Lucky will be a wonderful, loving companion. He's healthy, has perfect house manners, and is low maintenance except for the issues noted above. I'm happy to tell you more, set up a meeting, etc. Thank you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-17-00227Kira (female)

Belgian Malinois    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Adoption fee will be discussed once the potential adopter is approved. WILL ONLY ADOPT TO A HANDLER EXPERIENCED WITH THE BREED AND FEAR-AGGRESSIVE DOGS. Kira is a Belgian Malinois and was bred to be trained for protection and police work. Her original trainer didn't do right by her and has instilled fears in her that makes her unsuitable as a working dog. Kira is a bit untrusting of new people and definitely so of men. She was donated to a disabled veteran organization to be a PTSD dog but she couldn't handle the stress and was aggressive toward the veteran when his PTSD kicked in and attempted to 'protect' the family from him instead of ... (Read More)calming him. Kira does not have papers nor is she registered. She is a sweet 2-3 year old who is a runner and will wear herself out running the fence if not supervised. She can chew her way through normal kennel panels, so she cannot go to someone who will put her in a kennel run and forget her. She doesn't handle large groups of dogs and is not a dog park type of dog. She does fine with indoor cats but may chase outdoor cats. Although timid as mentioned, she did warm up nicely in her foster home and loves to snuggle on the couch even with the resident adult male of the family. As said she is intimidated by large groups of dogs or aggressive or dominant dogs. She won't put up a fight but will allow herself to be attacked. This girl is already very special to us and we will be looking for that special someone for her. If you think you are interested in Kira and have fully researched the breed, please go to www.fullhousefullheartsdogrescue.com and fill out the online application. We will be screening applicants for this dog much more strictly than usual due to her breed and timid disposition. (Less)
