Lacey has lived her entire life in an outdoor kennel. She now needs a family that will embrace her in a warm loving home. She is friendly and good natured; truly adored by her foster family. Her foster mom is working on getting her weight down as she was overweight when surrendered to the rescue. Her family could no longer take care of her. She is such a beautiful shepherd mix. Contact us if you'd like to meet her!

|Rescue Me ID: 16-08-13-00130Hope (female)|
Howdy! My name is Hope and I'm a 3 year old 45 pound German Shepherd mix gal. I was found in an abandoned rental house - very malnourished. But look at me now!! I am very smart and respond to direction and listen very well. I will need slow introduction to other dogs as I appear to have a little social awkwardness, Slow introductions and verbal guidance is a must with me. I do NOT get along with cats. My foster family is working with me on the one bad habit that I have - counter surfing! If left to my own devises, I will help myself to whatever is on the counter. A loaf of bread (didn't realize was for lunches :) maybe just a few chocolate chip cookies and banana muffins. But I'm learning that while I enjoy this, my foster Mom doesn't and she tells me it's not proper dog ettiquette! I am a great house dog and pretty much just lay on the floor or dog bed. Yes, I have some pre-mature graying of the muzzle but don't let that fool you! I am a happy youthful 3 year old. I love to fetch balls in the yard, love to chomp up a stuffed toy, and will run and play like a pup in the yard!!! I walk great on a leash if I do say so myself. I am VERY sweet and really enjoy being rubbed on my ears. I also love to be near my people just hanging out and getting rubs. I've been spayed and am up to date with vaccinations. My heartworm test shows that I'm a slight positive. I am on the slow-kill method of heartworm treatment. That means that I'm on a 30 day regimen of a special antibiotic and get heartworm preventative each month (which I should always get anyway!). Underdog Ranch can explain it all to you better than I can - but I CAN tell you that it shouldn't stop you from meeting me or adopting me as your new best friend! Underdog Ranch is not charging a regular fee to adopt me - rather they are accepting a tax-deductible contribution and will give you a year's worth of heartworm preventative as part of my take-home package! I'll do best in a home with children over the age of 8 years old - I'm great with older kids but I'm not used to the activity levels of young/small people. If this pet interests you or you have any questions about this dog, please fill out an online application at udranch.org/adopt-a-dog and we will be happy to answer any questions and arrange a visit! |Rescue Me ID: 16-02-19-00204Romeo (male)|
Romeo is a sweet and affectionate, 6 year old Belgian Malinois mix. He has the Malinois personality - very smart and mischievous - and Malinois drive. He is not 'over the top' like most Malinois but he does need someone that is familiar with the breed who can give him the structure a Malinois needs while keeping his mind and body active. A fenced yard to play in is a must. Frisbee is his FAVORITE game! He usually brings it back but sometimes he likes to be chased around the back yard; he is still quite puppyish. He is a wonderful walking and hiking companion, especially if you are by the water, he will just jump in and splash around. Romeo would be best as an only dog because he has so much love to give; he is definitely a Velcro dog. He needs a home without cats or small dogs because of his strong prey drive. He also is best suited for homes with older children (12 years old or older) because of his size and playfulness. Romeo is fully vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped and even had a recent dental! To adopt Romeo please contact email@example.com Romeo is being fostered in Charlotte NC (Less)

Belgian Malinois Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Belgian Malinois is a large, dominant, intelligent, protective breed. The Belgian Malinois is usually used as a working guard dog. Malinois make good pets. They need to be with people and get enough attention or they can become destructive. Malinois should be socialized with children and other animals from an early age, and need to be watched around small non-canines. Malinois do best in cooler climates. Belgian Malinois are used to outdoor work, but can live in an apartment if they get plenty of daily exercise.
